Virtual Layout Tour
Otter Creek & BOB Tower
A rather long freight is lead through the crossovers at BOB Tower by a pair of Union Pacific Dash-9s.
BOB tower governs all train movements
between DOUG and WJ Towers, and is unique in that it controls the only
section of 3-track main on the GSN. Under the mountain, a track connects
the mainline to form a reverse loop. Another track, recently put in service,
runs to a staging area and the heavy locomotive & car shops. Also of note,
all of the tracks in the vicinity of BOB interlocking were all hand laid by Bob
himself, including all of the #8 and #6 switches.
A New York, New Haven & Hartford 4-8-2 shakes the ground as it moves westbound
on track 3 past BOB tower. When it reaches WJ tower, the train will return to the westbound
main, the center track at BOB tower.
